Govt reprimands Indian Ambassador to UAE
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) The government today reprimanded Indian Ambassador to the UAE C M Bhandari for including a family event in celebration of a formal national event and said it was taking action to ensure that such lapses did not occur in any of the Missions abroad According to sources, the Indian Ambassador in Abu Dhabi had issued invitation cards on Republic Day this year requesting the guests to meet his daughter and son-in-law in the same invitation card.
''The Ambassador has unfortunately shown a lack of judgement in including a family event in the celebration of a formal national event. The Ministry has issued a reprimand to the officer and is taking action to ensure that such lapses do not occur in any of our Missions abroad,'' an External Affairs Ministry Spokesman said in reply to a question.
