Ghani Khan's condition continues to be critical

Kolkata, Apr 6 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader A B A Ghani Khan Choudhury still remained on life support today.

A medical bulletin, issued by the nursing home this afternoon, said, '' Mr Khan Choudhury is suffering from acute gall stone pancreatis with renal complications and haemodynamic instability. He is on ventilation for respiratory and CRRP dialysis for renal support. His other vital parametres are stable though he remains critical. '' The condition of former Railway Minister and present MP from Malda improved up slightly this morning but once again deteriorated, the nursing home sources said.

Mr Khan Choudhury, admitted to the private nursing home on April 3 following abdominal pain, suffered from acute respiratory problem last night and he was put on ventilation.

The heavyweight political leader of Malda district was flown in here on Monday by an Air Force helicopter after he fell ill at his residence.

A team of AICC members visited Mr Khan Choudhury in the nursing home today. Among them were Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Ms Margaret Alva and I&B Minister Priya Ranjan Das Munshi. West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi also visited Mr Khan Choudhury.
