Constable dies during inquiry

Tikamgarh, MP, Apr 6 (UNI) A 40-year-old constable has died in suspicious circumstances after his health deteriorated while making a statement during a departmental inquiry here.

Constable Pooran Singh, posted in the Police Lines, was being proceeded against for being absent from duty for a prolonged period.

''Yesterday, he was rushed from the Scheduled Castes Welfare Police Station to the district hospital where doctors pronounced him dead,'' said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandrapal Singh.

Constable Singh was a resident of Purani Tehri Mulla area. His son Dileep alleged that the personnel was pressurised during the probe. The post mortem report's details were awaited.
