City court sentences 3 to life imprisonment for abduction, murder
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) A city court has sentenced three people to life imprisonment for abducting and brutally murdering a man in Sarita Vihar in South Delhi three years ago.
Patiala House Court Additional Sessions Judge I K Kochchar holding Hari Ram, Brij Mohan and Kewal guilty of murder, sentenced them to life imprisonment yesterday.
The court further slapped a fine of Rs 4,000 each on the convicted persons.
The convicts, along with a juvenile, whose trial is going on in the juvenile court, had abducted 35-year-old Vipin on the intervening night of July 3-4, 2003, from J J Colony in Madanpur Khadar. They strangulated him to death with a belt, according to the prosecution.
All of them were convicted under Sections 364 (abduction), 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention to commit a crime) of the Indian Penal Code.
