Centre grants Rs 98.39 cr for devp of 5 towns in AP
Hyderabad, Apr 6: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 98.39 crores for the development of urban infrastructure in five towns of Andhra Pradesh under 'Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns' programme under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Pulivendula Rs 26.88 crores, Kandukur Rs 36.48 crores, Markapur Rs 26.88 crores, Miryalaguda Rs 1.75 crores and Adilabad Rs 6.40 crores, announcing this in New Delhi yesterday, special representative Dr Ravi Mallu said the government has released 50 per cent of the amount as first installment.
He expressed his gratitude to the Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy for sanctioning the funds to the state, the Chief Minister's office release said.
With this release, the state has recived Rs 1285.81 crores during 2005-06 under the sub-mission of Urban Infrastructure and Transport under JNNURM.
