CCL spends more for social welfare
Ranchi, Apr 6: The Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has achieved considerable landmarks for community development and village welfare in the periphery of its operational areas and about 314 number of works have been taken up in different villages during 2005-06.
It has mainly working in development of driniking water supply, rural roads, education, health care, self employment scheme, sports and culture and community centre and environment protection plan.
CCL has also proposed to have further growth of 10 per cent on each work during 2006-07 to enhance the standard of living of people. During 2006-07 it proposed to double the expenditure on community development activities.
The report also said that environment management was one of the thrust areas of the company. It has adopted eco-friendly mining techniques of concurrent reclamation thus maintaining ecological balance of the region. During 2005-06 total plantation completed in 190 hactar area and about 4,76,475 saplings have been planted. About Rs.100 lakh spent on plantation during the year, it added.
