Asom is heading for coalition government- Asif
Guwahati, Apr 6 (UNI) All India Minority Front (AIMF) national president S M Asif today said that his party would play a vital role for formation of the next government in Asom.
Addressing a news conference here, he reiterated that coalition government is a must as no single party would be in a position to form a government on its own.
He said the party has already fielded three candidates in the Rupahihat, Goalpara West and Bilasipara West constituencies and supporting other candidates in eighteen seats across Asom.
He said party's Lok Sabha member Golam Osmani was authorised to announce support to other like minded winning candidates in remaining constituencies.
Final list of support candidates would be announced by Mr Osmani on april 8, just two days before the second phase of polling for remaining 61 seats of the state.
National Panther Party, an ally of the AIMF, president, Delhi pradesh, Sanjoy Sachdev, alleged that the Congress and BJP were the two sides of the same coin and they were to defeat both the national parties.
He alleged that the model code of conduct was violated by different political parties and requested the election commission to take proper action against such violators.
