Army recovers 3.5 Kg Heorin from smuggler on Indo-Pak border

Jammu, Apr 6 (UNI) The Army jawans today nabbed a smuggler on the Indo-Pakistan border in Khour area in Jammu region and recovered 3.5 kg of Heroin from his possession.

Sources said Army overpowered the trans-border smuggler on the banks of river Manawar Tawi, while he was trying to infiltrate to the Indian side in the wee hours yesterday. He was indentified as Tara Chand of village Panjtoo and from his possession 3.5 kg of Heroin, having value of Rs 3.5 crore in the international market was recovered.

Later, the smuggler was handed over to Khour police for further investigation. During the course of interrogation he revealed that this was the second time that he was smuggling the narcotics from Pakistan. He also informed police about the mobile numbers of his local associates and their whereabouts in Khour town.

A case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) has been registered against him and further investigations were on.
