Anbazhagan's petition in Jaya wealth case hearing on Apr 10

Chennai, Apr 6 (UNI) Madras High Court today posted to April 10 further hearing on DMK General Secretary K Anbazhagan's petition seeking a stay on further proceedings before Chief Judge of Small Causes Court (CJSSC) here on property attachment in the Rs 66.65-crore disproportionate wealth case, in which Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is prime accused.

When the petition came up for hearing before Justice M Jeyapal, Ms Jayalalithaa's counsel N Jyothi took notice on behalf of her, her close aide Sasikala Natarajan and Ms Sasikala's relative J Ilavarasi, for filing a counter.

Advocate Saravanakumar, also present in the court, took notice on behalf of Ms Jayalalithaa's disowned foster son V N Sudhakaran.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Jayaprakash Narayanan took notice on behalf of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. Turning down the plea of Mr Anbazhagan's counsel R Shanmugasundaram that the court should order status quo or an interim stay, the judge said he could not pass any interim order without hearing the other side.

He later posted the hearing to April 10.
