Water for 7.5 lakh acre: Minister

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Major Irrigation Minister P Laksmaiah today who reviewed the progress of irrigation initiative with his department officials today said water will be provided to 7.5 lakh acre from 17 projects as against eight projects committed earlier during the coming Khariff season.

Speaking to reporters here, the Minister said ''the work on projects are going on smoothly.'' Referring to the stir by those who will be displaced by the Guntlakama Project demanding payment of compensation, he said a team led by Irrigation Additional Secretary A K Jain would visit the project site on April eight to resolve the matter amicably.
