ULFA cadre surrenders before army

Guwahati, Apr 5 (UNI) A hardcore United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) cadre surrendered before the army near Bihuguri in Sonitpur district, an army release said here today.

The release said Bhubaneswar Haloi, who surrendered yesterday, had joined the ULFA in 1997.

He handed over a revolver, one 12 bore rifle, five grenades, two AK series magazines, 90 rounds of ammunition,five explosive candles and two stamp pads.

The surrender was organised by the 43 Assam Rifles, the release said.
