Tiwari for making winter sports centres more accessible
Dehra Dun, Apr 5 (UNI) Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari has emphasised on making winter sports centres in the higher ranges more accessible to ensure incessant tourist inflow through out the year.
In a bid to sustain tourist inflow in the higher ranges and keep Char Dham Yatra open all through the year, Mr Tiwari said snow cutters have been provided by the Centre to make the roads accessible even during heavy snowfall. He also issued instructions to the authorities concerned to enhance security at the temples and provide adequate facilities to the tourists during the Yatra Season.
The 'Kapat' of both Kedarnath and Badrinath are scheduled to open on May four. Every year, with the advent of winters, the 'Kapats' are closed which brings down the tourist inflow as heavy snowfall cuts access to the higher ranges which in turn adversely affects the state revenue.
