Servant commits suicide in Dalmiya residence

Kolkata, Apr 05 (UNI) A maid servant working at former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya's residence allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself.

Police said the Dalmiyas' informed the police early today after Meena Das (32) did not open the door of the servants' quarter.

Police broke open the door of her room and found Meena hanging from a cloth tied to the window.

She had started working at the Dalmiya's residence around a month and a half earlier.

Das, allegedly suffering from mental illness, is survived by an 18-month-old daughter and husband.

The body has been sent for post mortem.
