Qatar aircraft makes emergency landing

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) A Qatar Airways plane carrying 221 passengers on board made an emergency landing here today following engine trouble, airport sources said.

The aircraft coming from Doha landed safely at 1050 hrs and all passengers were safe.

The pilot of Airbus A330 aircraft informed the air traffic control of engine shutdown and the plane was taken to a remote bay.

Full emergency was declared at the airport, sources said. All incoming and outgoing traffic was closed for about 45 minutes to enable the aircraft to land, they said.

The passengers were offloaded at the remote bay.
