Oldest stones unearthed in TN

Thanjavur, Apr 5 (UNI) The Epigraphy and Archaeology Department of Tamil University had unearthed three stones of over 2300 years old in Puliman Kombai area at Theni district sometime ago.

The University source said the stones having 'Brami' inscriptions of 'Nadukarkal'(centre-stone) were considered to be the oldest.

The inscriptions on the stones marked a few ancient Tamil proverbs, the source added.
