Nehru study centre set up in Jammu University

Jammu, Apr 5 (UNI) The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved the establishment of a Nehru study centre in the Jammu varsity and allocated a grant of Rs 8.20 lakh for the purpose.

The centre will strive to highlight the values of peace, non-violence, democracy, truth, rational lifestyles, world peace and secularism, a University spokesperson said here today.

It will offer Post Graduate diploma and certificate courses in Nehruvian resolution of conflicts besides two weeks short-term intensive programme for professionals, administrators, police and army personnel.

This will also provide opportunities for persistent efforts towards excellence in holistic perception of Nehruvian studies through faculty exchange programmes, seminars and discussions, he said.
