Nation pays tribute to Babu Jagjivan Ram

New Delhi, Apr 5: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh led the nation in paying tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister Jagjivan Ram on his 99th birth anniversary today.

Mr Singh and his cabinet colleagues and Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi paid floral tributes at his samadhi 'Samata Sthal' here.

Jagjivan Ram's daughter and Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Meira Kumar was among several Congress leaders present at the occasion.

An all-religion prayer was also held at his memorial.
