Maintain medical ethics: Apang

Itanagar, Apr 5 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has urged the state Health and Family Welfare ministry to take proper measures to revamp the health department.

Mr Apang has asked state Health Minister C C Singpho, in a meeting yesterday, to take necessary steps to utilise funds for the government hospitals.

Talking about mismanagement in the health sector, Mr Apang said, ''People playing with somebody's health should be hanged.'' The Chief Minister said the doctors serving in the remote areas should maintain medical ethics.

He has sought help of the NGOs like Karuna Trust (integrated rural development project) in this regard.

He said the government supervises community based health care programmes to address problems of the people.

In a meeting with Karuna Trust Honorary Secretary Dr H Sudarshan, the Chief Minister said a group of MLAs and senior officers would be going to Nagaland to see how the NGO operates.
