Jail bird succumbs to tuberculosis

Gulbarga, Apr 5 (UNI) A convict, undergoing life imprisonment at the Gulbarga central jail, died at the Government General Hospital here last night following prolonged illness.

Police sources said today that Gopal Narayana Rathod (36), suffering from tuberculosis, failed to respond to treatment and died. His body was handed over to his mother after conducting post-mortem.

Rathod was sentenced to life imprisonment in a dowry death case in 2004.
