Jaat leader gunned down in Sikar
Sikar, Apr 5 (UNI) The chairperson of All India Jaat Mahasabha was gunned down by unidentified assailants in broad daylight here today.
According to police sources and eyewitnesses, chairperson Gopal Singh Phogawat was passing by the Saini mandir near Kalyan Hospital when six unidentified assailants in a Bolero jeep attacked Mr Phogawat. Sensing danger, he rushed inside a nearby shop and tried hiding but was chased by the attackers and gunned down.
As soon as the news of the murder spread, a huge crowd gathered at the spot.
A police contingent has been deployed to avoid any untoward incident in the area.
Mr Phogawat's body was sent to the government Kalyan Hospital for post mortem.
