India to sign MoU an conservation of turtles

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) India will sign the MoU on the Conservation and Management of Marine Turtles and their habitats of the Indian Ocean and South East Asia.

A meeting of the Union Cabinet tonight gave its approval in this regard.

The objective of this MOU is to protect, conserve, replenish and recover marine turtles and their habitats, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told mediapersons after the meeting here.

It will facilitate in carrying out and conducting research on turtles in the region.
