HC quashes Chhattisgarh PSC decision to cancel exam

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 5 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh High Court today quashed a State Public Service Commission decision to reconduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2005.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Subray Rama Nayak and Justice Dilip Deshmukh said there was scant need for conducting the test afresh and instead ordered revaluation.

The ruling came on a petition by Mr Vivek Shukla and Mr Tulsidas Markam. The commission apprised the court that it cancelled the exam due to technical flaws.

The test was conducted last November, 65,000 candidates appeared and 2,700 were declared successful in January.

Subsequently, the Commission cancelled the results following complaints from candidates that there were irregularities in the exam. The Commission said it will conved the examination the exam on June 4.
