Governor for combating terrorism firmly
Jammu Apr 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) S K Sinha while lauding the valour of Gorkhas, today called for greater vigilance and firmness in tackling terrorism in the state.
Interacting with officers and junior commissioned officers of 35 GR at Raj Bhavan this morning, General Sinha, at the same time, laid great stress on the troops for developing cordial relations with civilians to win their hearts.
General Sinha spoke to the troops in Nepali and recalled how, as both a junior officer and as commander of the unit, he had served with this battalion for several years in different regions of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the battalion has an exemplary record of service in war and peace and exhorted the troops to maintain their high standard.
The 35 GR has been recently inducted into Jammu and Kashmir and the Governor has had a long association with this platoon.
