Dravid confident of clinching

Written by: Staff

Kochi, Apr 5 (UNI) Indin skipper Rahul Dravid today said the team management would not deviate too much from its plan for the fourth ODI against England while exuding confidence of clinching the series here tomorrow.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the team had done well in the last three games and if it plays good cricket tomorrow, ''we will win the series''.

Admitting that it was an important game tomorrow, Dravid said it would be nice to win the series here. ''But I don't think we will deviate too much from our plans for the game. We will play the kind of cricket we had played in the last three games and try to win the series tomorrow'', he added.

About the pitch, Dravid said generally it would be a very good wicket. The last three to four matches played here were high scoring games and it should be the same tomorrow.

''I expect it (the pitch) to be the same'', Dravid, who had scored a century along with Virender Sehwag against Pakistan here last year under extremely tiring conditions, said.

The composition of the team would be announced tomorrow as the team wanted to keep it as a surprise for the opposition, he said.

Stating that the conditions were hot and humid, he said that was the reason why the team management have rested players who had a lot of activity in the last one week, from attending the nets today. Apart from the skipper, Yuvraj singh, M S Dhoni and Irfan Pathan were given rest and did not attend the nets.

''We need a lot of mental strength and ability to cope up with the (weather) conditions. We had showed it in Goa. We will do it here also and ensure that players are hydrated enough'', Dravid said.
