Cabinet approves increase in outlay for ICDS

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved increase in outlay for various projects of the World Bank assisted Integrated Child Development Services(ICDS)-111.

It cleared an additional provision of Rs 64.57 crore to meet the estimated expenditure on salaries/honorarium etc of functionaries under the project.

It also gave a go ahead for continuation of the existing Central Project Management Unit(CPMU) and State Project Managament Units in states of Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh at an estimated expendiuture of Rs 1,48 crore.

The Cabinet also approved increase in the project outlay by Rs 66.05 crore from Rs 1842,28 Crore, thus increasing the Centre's share from Rs 682.67 Crore to Rs 729.35 Crore.

The ICDS-111 project was approved in March 1999.
