Advani seeks blessings at Dwarka temple for yatra success
Jamnagar, Apr 5 (UNI) BJP leader L K Advani visited the historic Dwarkadeesh Temple in Dwarka this evening and sought divine blessings for the success of his nearly month-long Rath Yatra, which begins tomorrow.
Mr Advani later left for Mithapur, where he will spend the night.
Tomorrow morning, he will again visit the temple before leaving for Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. After a brief halt, he will embark on his yatra from Rajkot.
With a plan to cover 820 kilometres across 12 districts of Gujarat, the yatra will traverse through Rajkot, Paliyad, Ranpur, Dhandhuka, Ahmedabad, Dakor, Umreth, Vasad, Vadodara, Dabhoi, Rajpipla, Rajpardi, Netrang, Jankhvav, Mandvi, Vyara, Bardoli, Vadodara, Surat, Valsad, Navsari, Chikhli, Vapi and Bhilad. It will be accorded public reception at 36 places in the state en route.
He will address four public meetings -- at Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat.
He is scheduled to reach New Delhi on May 10 .
BJP national general secretary O M Mathur and state general secretary Jayantibhai Barot were among other party functionaries who accompanied Mr Advani to the Temple.
