VVF limited launches Shiff skin-care soap

Written by: Staff

Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Mumbai-based VVF Limited, a leading player in personal care products market, will tap the capital market within the next one-and-half years to fund its expansion programme.

VVF Limited Vice-President (Personal Care) Piyush Jindal, after the launch of Shiff, a skin-care soap, said, ''More products in the body and skin-care segment are in the pipeline in the next 12-months.'' He also said that VVF Limited was planning to expand its base in south-east Asia apart from scaling up capacities in the company's existing production facilities.

''So far we have funded our expansions through internal accruals and debt. But now, with our expansions picking up pace, we will most probably need to tap the capital market,'' he added.

A leading oleochemicals producer of the country, VVF Limited had recently scaled up its fatty acid production at its Kutch facility at an outlay of Rs 40 crore. Similarly, the company has also enhanced its capacities and value-addition capabilities at its cent per cent EoU in Taloja.

Mr Jindal expressed optimism about the prospects of Shiff, the company's latest launch, which is being endorsed by film and TV personality Pooja Bedi.

The 75 gm Shiff pack is reasonably priced at Rs 12 and contains no animal fat, nor has it been tested on animals, Mr Jindal said.

''Shiff is the result of understanding the needs of our consumers and providing them with a soap that will pamper and protect them everyday,'' he said.

Available across the country at all retail outlets, Shiff is a combination of a beauty soap with germ-fighting qualities. ''For the first time consumers will have a product that combines the best of these two properties,'' he said.

''With Shiff now, all of us can be the proud owner of a beautiful and healthy skin. I love the feel of the soap on the skin. Bathing with Shiff is definitely an exhilarating experience,'' said Ms Bedi.

VVF Limited has two overseas production facilities, at Dubai and Mississauga in Canada, apart from five facilities in India at Mumbai, Daman, Navsari, Kutch and Taloja.
