ULFA cadre surrender

Guwahati, Apr 4 (UNI) An ULFA cadre today laid down arms before the Army in presence of police officials near Bihguri in Sonitpur district of Asom.

Defence sources in a statement here said Bhubaneshwar Haloi, who had joined the proscribed group in 1997, surrendered before Brig Manohar Singh, Commander, 72 Mountain Brigade.

The militant handed over one revolver, one 12 bore rifle, five grenades, two AK magazine, 90 rounds of ammunition, 21 detonators, five explosive candles and two stamp pads.
