Three dead in Singapore shipyard crane accident
SINGAPORE, Apr 4 (Reuters) Three workers at a Singapore shipyard were killed today when part of a crane collapsed, SembCorp Marine Limited said.
A Singaporean, a Chinese and an Indian national died after the boom of the crane collapsed at site belonging to PPL Shipyard, SembCorp Marine said in a statement.
A fourth worker, a Bangladeshi national, was injured but is in stable condition, it said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, the firm said.
PPL Shipyard is a subsidiary of SembCorp Marine, the world's second-biggest offshore oil-rig builder. SembCorp Marine is a subsidiary of conglomerate SembCorp Industries.
