Ten lakh robbery in Sarojini Nagar, 2 arrested
New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Police arrested two robbers soon after they looted more than Rs ten lakhs from a House in South West area of the capital this afternoon.
A senior police official said the two were arrested within minutes after they fled from the Naoroji Nagar residence under Sarojini Nagar police station after they committed the crime.
''During interrogation it came out that the house servant had connived with the accused in the robbery in which nearly 1,035,000 and some jewellery were taken,'' the official said.
They were caught due to a miscalculation over the timing of raising an alarm by the servant, who had been tied by the accused before leaving.
''Hearing the alarm raised by the servant, the police PCR was alerted by the people who jointly arrested the fleeing duo.'' A country-made pistol and iron rods were recovered from their possession, the official added.
