Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Tata Motors has recorded the highest sales for the financial year 2005-06 by selling 4,54,345 vehicles, including exports, which is an increase of 13.7 per cent over FY'04-05.
Total sales for the month of March'06 stood at 56,406 units, which is a 27 per cent increase over previous year for the same month and is also the highest-ever monthly sale for the company, a release issued here today said.
Similarly, the sale of commercial vehicles for March'06 in the domestic market was recorded at 27,289 units, an increase of 33.3 per cent over 20,473 vehicles sold in March'05.
The cumulative sale of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 214,950 units. M&HCV's (medium and heavy commercial vehicles) cumulative sale was 128,714 units, while that of LCV (light commercial vehicles) was 86,236 units.
Likewise, in the passenger vehicle business, the company reported a total sale of 22,609 vehicles in the domestic market in March'06, also its highest ever monthly sale and an increase of 13.1 per cent over March'05.
The total sale of Indica at 12,989 units is an increase of 17.5 per cent. However, the Indigo range registered a sale of 4,666 units, Sumo and Safari accounted for 4,954 units, registering a growth of 13.8 per cent.
