Tandon to visit Bengal tomorrow

Kolkata, Apr 4 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner B.B.Tandon and Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan will arrive here tomorrow on a day's visit to the state to oversee poll preparedness.

Sources in the election office said the CEC would go straight to Midnapore district, going to polls in two phases on April 17 and 22, to take a first hand stock of the situation.

Mr Balakrishnan was expected to hold meetings with the senior Government officials to assess the progress of EPIC coverage in the state and implementation of various orders of the Commission.
