Sugar prices rise further on heavy demand

Navi Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Sugar prices rose further on heavy demand, traders in the sugar market here today said.

The rates of small and medium grades hiked by Rs 20 and Rs 30 per quintal, respectively, on reduced stock supply.

The rates of ex-mill, small and medium grades rose by Rs 25 and Rs 30 per quintal, respectively, as selleres were hoarding their stocks.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,855/1,900, medium grade Rs 1,890/1,936.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,850/1,870 and medium grade Rs 1,880/1,900.
