Rs One lakh ex-gratia for families of Yamuna Pushta fire victims

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh for the families of Yamuna Pushta JJ clusters fire victims.

Ms Dikshit, who visited the accident site, said ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 would be paid to the families which had lost a minor.

Assistance of Rs 1,000 each would also be provided to those people whose jhuggi's were destroyed in the fire.

The Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner concerned to personally ensure relief operations and expedite rehabilitation work.

She said the residents would be trained to take up any challenge during disaster.

Six people, including a child, died in the furious blaze that broke out in the Jhuggi Jhopdi cluster along the banks of the Yamuna near ITO last night.
