Roorkee tehsildar suspended in land record scam

Hardwar, Apr 4 (UNI) The tehsildar of Roorkee in this district has been placed under suspension for alleged irregularities in land transactions and maintenance of records.

Sources said after receiving complaints of illegal alterations in records by the revenue department in Roorkee, District Magistrate R K Sudhanshu got an inquiry conducted into the matter.

Following the inquiry tehsildar Parmanand and retired naib tehsildar Jai Pal Singh were found guilty of transferring land on a large scale in the name of outsiders who had made purchases in violation of government rules.

Mr Sudhanshu told UNI that on his recommendation the state government had placed the tehsildar under suspension and the pension of the retired naib tehasildar had been stopped.
