Revolver and jewellery worth Rs 64,000 recovered from bank locker

Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Officials of State Bank of Bikaner's Fort branch in South Mumbai recovered a revolver and jewellery worth Rs 64,000 from its locker that had not been operated for long.

A locker belonging to one Mr R F Gill, who had opened an locker in 1986 had operated it till 1997. Thereafter, he did not pay the rent to use the locker.

When the locker was opened yesterday, bank officials found a US-made revolver and gold jewellery worth Rs 64,000, police today said. The locker owner belongs to Faridkot in Punjab, according to official records.

About 74 lockers that had not been operated were opened by State Bank of Bikaner's officials yesterday.

The police have seized the revolver and jewellery after the panchnama, added sources.
