Nine killed, 7 injured in jeep mishap in Jind
Jind, Apr 4 (UNI) Nine people were killed and seven others injured when a jeep carrying them crashed into a bus stop shelter at Lochab village in Jind district of Haryana this morning.
While six people died on the spot, three others succumbed to injuries in a hospital at Jind where the injured were admitted.
The victims were returning from fair at Bambori village, District Police Chief M S Malik said.
The deceased were identified as Sat Parkash, Kavita, Poonam, Bijender, Mahinder, Neeraj, Subhash, Ritik and Shalinder, the driver, Mr Malik said.
The roof of the shelter gave way and fell onto the jeep. Police and officials have rushed to the site.
