NC member says Azad should be given a chance
Srinagar, Apr 4 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) working committee member Aslam Goni has urged the party not to contest against Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is seeking election from Bhaderwah assembly constituency.
The bypoll in the constituency will be held along with three valley assembly segments on April 24.
Mr Goni said following assurance by Mr Azad to convert Bhaderweah into a model constituency, we should not put up any candidate against him He said the decision to urge the party patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and president Omar Abdullah not to contest from the constituency was taken after all the office bearers of the party's local unit were taken into confidence.
The members felt that Mr Azad should be given a chance, he said and added that Mr Azad will fulfill his promises.
Mr Azad is seeking election from the constituency vacated by his cousin Mohammad Sharief Naz.
