NBW against five in Gyanwapi violence case
Varanasi, Apr 4 (UNI) Non-bailable warrants have been issued against five people accused of fomenting violence outside the sensitive Kashi Viswanath-Gyanwapi complex here in September last year.
Chief Judicial Magistrate court issued the NBW against five of the 18 accused, after they failed to appear before the court here today.
Violence had erupted outside the sensitive complex last September, after security personnel deployed at the 'Chuttadwar' -- main entrance to the complex -- had allegedly misbehaved with a muslim cleric of the city Muft-e-Banaras Maulana Abdul Batin.
A criminal case was later registered against 18 people in connection with the violence.
