More to appeal in HC
Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge K U Chandiwal today directed the jail authorities to provide proper security to dismissed constable Sunil Atmaram More, who was sentenced to twelve year imprisonment for raping a teeanged collegian inside a police outpost at Marine Drive in South Mumbai in April last year.
The directions were in response to an application filed by More today, praying for proper safety inside the jail.
More was produced in the court after the receipt of the copy of judgement delivered yesterday.
He spent about two hours with his family including his wife Namrata, seven-month old daughter Krupa and his uncle Srikant More.
Later talking to media, his wife said that an appleal against the Sessions Court order would be made in the High Court since her husband did not get justice.
She claimed that her husband was innocent and had been framed by victim, adding that he could not commit such a henious crime.
While showing the photographs which appeared in local newspapers that how the girl had given wrong statement before the court.
She said that one photograph appeared today, taken immediately after the incident showed the girl had wrist watch on her hand, while she had deposed before the court that she had lost her watch in the police outpost when the incident took place.
