MOIL presents dividend cheque to CM

Bhopal, Apr 4 (UNI) Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL) -- a joint venture of the Centre and Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments -- presented a cheque of Rs 1.08 crore as dividend to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.

MOIL chairman K L Mehrotra presented the cheque to Mr Chouhan and apprised him of the company's ongoing operations.

The MOIL has paid dividend cheques amounting to Rs 339.03 lakh to the state government in the the past five years, an official release said here today.

Besides, the state has received Rs 1,491.67 lakh as royalty and Rs 2,684 lakh as sales tax in the past five years.

Minister of State for Mineral Resource Laxmikant Sharma, Principal Secretary (Mining) Devraj Birdi and senior officials of MOIL were also present, the release added.
