Kanchi Acharya appears in court

Chennai, Apr 4: Kanchi Acharya Jayendra Saraswathi today appeared before a Sessions Court in connection with the Auditor Radhakrishnan assault case.

The First Additional Sessions Judge A R Selvakumar, before whom the Seer appeared, posted further hearing of the case to April 19.

Since the seer failed to appear before the court when the case came up for hearing yesterday, the judge ordered issuance of a bailable warrant against him. However, following a plea from K S Dinakaran, the acharya's counsel, the judge withheld the despatch of the warrant for one day and made it clear that it would be dispatched tomorrow morning.

Following this, the seer appeared before the court today.
