Jamir stresses need to inculcate spirit of nationalism in youth
Panaji, Apr 4 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir today stressed the need to inculcate a spirit of patriotism and nationalism in the youth to foster national integration and make India more strong.
Speaking as chief guest after distributing prizes to winners of the All Goa Inter School Patriotic Group Singing Competition at the Kala Akademy here today, the Governor said there was a need to infuse love for the country among the youth and the older generation alike to make India strong.
The Governor said Goa has the potential to become a role model for the rest of the country.
He suggested that apart from holding such patriotic competitions, the Education Directorate should also organise essay writing contests on the future image of Goa.
Education Minister Luizinho Faleiro, who was also present on the occasion, complimented the prize winners and said music, theatre and art are varied forms of our culture which should be promoted and enriched for posterity.
