High level security meeting held in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 4 (UNI) A joint meeting comprising high officials of the Union Home Ministry, state government and the army held a meeting yesterday and today to dicuss the prevailing law and order situation of the state.

Official sources here today said that special secretary of Union Home Ministry G S Rajagopal held closed door meetings with senior government officials to discuss various issues.

The trade in the border areas, counter insurgency operation, restoration of civil administration among other were discussed during the meetings, sources said. Issues like fleeing of people to Mizoram due to fighting in Churachandpur district between army and the militants were also discussed.
