Ghani Khan Choudhury's condition stable

Kolkata, Apr 4 (UNI) The condition of veteran Congress leader A B A Ghani Khan Chowdhury, admitted to a private nursing home here yesterday following abdominal pain, was stable, a health bulletin today said.

The MP and former Railways Minister has been diagnosed with having stones in the kidneys and gall bladder.

The 79-year-old political leader of Malda district was flown in by an Air Force helicopter after he fell ill at his residence early yesterday.

''Mr Khan Choudhury's condition has not improved but he is stable,'' doctors attending on him said.

Meanwhile, dignitaries, including political leaders, today visited the ailing leader at the nursing home in south Kolkata.

Among them were state BJP leader Tathagata Roy and veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee.
