Former Education Director shot at in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 4 (UNI) Manipur's former director of education department was shot at by some unidentified gunmen at Keishamthong Top Lierak here, police said.

Ch Jayenta was rushed to hospital where his condition was stated critical, sources said.

Details were awaited.

In another incident two suspected militants were shot dead today in an encounter by a combined force of police and troops at Saiton Bishenpur district.

Police said the two slain rebels were yet to be identified.
