Ford zips on fast lane, clocks 83 pc growth in sales

Chennai, Apr 4: Ford India has registered a record sales of 5,929 units in March this year, marking a growth of 83 per cent over the same month last year.

This was Ford's highest sales since its inception in India in 1995, a company release said adding the first quarter sales of the company also grew by 86 per cent.

During this quarter, the company had sold 14,125 units against 7,607 units during the same period last year. The recent entry of Fiesta and the popular Ford Ikon continued to drive the growth, it said.

There has been an overwhelming response for Fiesta and till date, it had over 15,000 bookings.
