Five sentenced to life imprisonment in UP

Pratapgarh, Apr 4 (UNI) Five persons accused of a 1996 murder have been sentenced to life imprisonment along with, a fine of Rs 6,000 each by a fast track court here.

According to the prosecution, Ramlakhan, Rajendra Verma, Barsati Verma, Ram Sukh Verma and Natai Verma had murdered the father of one Bharat Verma over a property dispute in Amapur village here on May 18, 1996.

Taking into account available evidence the fast track court, yesterday, pronounced the life sentence to the five accused.
