Dr KV RAO research awards on Apr 8

Hyderabad, Apr 4: The sixth annual KV Rao Scientific Society Research awards will be presented on April 8 to the winners who excelled in the field of science.

According to a press release here, the society's Joint Secretary Dr K Ratna said the award in each category consisted of cash of Rs 10,000 and silver trophy to one young scientist and Rs 5000 and silver trophies to two candidates.

Stating that the award would also be given in Physics from this year, apart from Chemistry and Allied Sciences, Ms Ratna said the award would be given to those who excelled in mathematics, medicine and biotechnology from 2007.

She said the society was established to preserve basic research and scientific talent among youth.
