Cruise vessel PSV Star Flyer comes to Kochi with 83 tourists
Kochi, Apr 4 (UNI) Cruise vessel PSV Star Flyer arrived at Cochin Port this morning with 83 passengers and 71 crew on board.
The vessel, which arrived from Colombo at 1100 hrs will leave for Goa tomorrow afternoon.
According to Cochin Port Trust (CPT) sources, 62 of the 83 tourists went to neighbouring Alappuzha district, which is famous for its network of canals and backwaters.
The others remained in Kochi to visit local tourist spots like Fort Kochi, the Jewish synagogue at Mattancherry and the popular Chinese fishing nets on the backwaters.
Stating that Kochi continued to be a popular destination for cruise vessels, CPT officials said altogether of 22 vessels had visited the port in the last tourist season.
With the new tourist season starting on April 1, 'Star Flyer' was the first cruise vessel of the season. Five more vessels are expected this month. While two ships will arrive on April six, two more will come on April 11 and one on April 17, they added.
